Responsibilities and Duties: The Second Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all activities on the CSL vessel they serve are conducted in accordance with the Safety Management System policies and procedures.


They are accountable for maintaining compliance with Transport Canada Regulations, codes of practice, and applicable standards in their areas of responsibility, which include maintenance, engineering, ballasting, oil handling operations, hull, and equipment. Qualifications and Skills

  • Possession of a 2nd class certificate of competency issued by Transport Canada.
