Seaward Services is seeking an Able Bodied Seaman for our Sea Fighter operation in Panama City FL.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • The AB stands underway watches and forms part of the navigation team as Rating Forming Part of the Navigation Watch (RFPNW).
  •  Participate in the operation of the vessel within the legal requirements of the USCG and other pertinent regulatory agencies under the supervision of the Boatswain
  • The AB forms part of the Shipboard Emergency Response team and has a particular task to carry out in an emergency
  • Actively participate as a key member of the vessel's maintenance and conservation team
  • Integral part of the deck machinery operating force
  • Know location of all safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, fire and bilge pumps, fire hoses, lifejacket lockers, emergency lighting, first aid supplies and rescue equipment.
  • Know proper lifejacket donning methods.
  • Monitor safety issues and report hazards to the Boatswain for correction.
  • Participate in Safety, Seamanship and other training as required.
  • Participate in drills as directed by the Boatswain
  • Participate in meetings as requested.
  • Ensure that safety equipment is provided and properly used for all tasks involving physical hazards.
  • Assist, under the direction of the Boatswain, with the safe mooring, docking of the vessel in a variety of weather and water stage conditions.
  • Assist with routine maintenance, painting and clean up as instructed by the Boatswain
  • Fulfill JQR requirements for all deck machinery prior to operating any machinery located aboard the SEA FIGHTER FSF-1.
  • Crewmember must make All U/W's (unless prior arrangements can be made)
  • Monday-Friday 0700-1600hrs
  • One night watch every 15 - 30 days
  • Weekends off, unless on project
  • Additional job duties assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
  • MMC with A.B. endorsement with at least A.B. Special (12 months) Limited (18 months); or Unlimited (3 years)]
  • STCW 2010 as amended , either of the following is acceptable: MMD with Lifeboatman; or STCW with Proficiency in Survival Craft.]
  • Must be able to obtain Top Secret Clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Possess and demonstrate superior mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic and other skills exercised in engineering management of a large motor vessel.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work assignments.
  • Demonstrate well-developed inter-personal skills.
  • Set and achieve high standards of performance.
  • Demonstrate initiative and be able to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.
  • Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Salary:  $240.55/daily
