Associate (Maritime Law)

Our client, a leading South African legal firm, seeks your Maritime Law knowledge to join their Maritime Team.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• LLM or studying towards LLM in Maritime Law.
• Studying towards an Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers qualification (strong advantage).
• Minimum 3 years litigation experience, preferably Maritime Law.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide clear legal advice on complex legal matters.
• Act as Counsel on legal issues.
• Contact and liaise with clients.
• Research and analyse relevant regulatory requirements and translate into business solutions.  
• Draft legal opinions, affidavits, pleadings and related Court documents.
• Build and maintain business relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
