Job Description:

 

The L3Harris Maritime Sector is restructing the subcontracts workforce supporting the five Maritime divisions and our subcontracting team is leveling-up to take on more complex subcontract management responsibility to help drive a sustainable competitive advantage and accelerate the delivery of cutting-edge capability to the warfighter.  We are looking for a leader recognized as an external and internal expert in subcontract managment, a thought leader with deep and substantive technical expertise as well as advanced business knowledge and leadership capabilities. This leader will communicate with contacts inside and outside of the organization on matters of strategic importance to influence executive leadership on new concepts, practices, and approaches. They will both define and execute the strategy for the subcontract function, establishing overall direction for new processes, systems, and solutions. They will recommend and implement strategies and develop operational plans/goals with direct impact to the achievement of functional and business strategy.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Responsible for sector-wide subcontracts management processes and procedures
  • Responsible for functional strategy and roadmap – defining what good looks like and taking us there
  • Define functional goals and objectives for use across segment
  • Manage relationships with supply chain leadership and functional peers
  • Define and implement training roadmaps and career development frameworks for subcontract employees
  • Select, motivate, and lead a strong team.
  • Support strategic new business pursuit activities as a critical subject matter expert for subcontracted systems and services.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate Supply Chain Subcontract risks, while identifying, developing, and realizing opportunities.
  • Support functions in efforts such as proposals, SOW development, negotiations, RCCA development, etc.
  • Understand, report, and influence applicable KPIs to drive subcontract maturity

 

Qualifications:

  • The experiences noted above are typically met through a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Expertise in subcontracts management in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Proven experience in leading high performing teams.
  • Ability to manage change in an organization, reengineering its culture and approach to workload management.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • MBA or graduate degree in related field.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen balanced with technical aptitude.
  • Noteworthy continuous improvement projects demonstrating innovation and creativity.
  • Highly self-motivated with ability to drive positive change through team building and gaining support from people and resources across the enterprise.
  • Project management experience and understanding of the project lifecycle and how to mitigate cost, schedule and technical issues during project execution.
  • Certified Subcontract Manager (CSCM)
  • ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
