Marine Outside Machinist

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Outside Machinist for a project located in and around the San Diego County, CA area. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $27/hour plus $150 perdiem to candidates that live 60+ miles from the job site.  If you are an Outside Machinist and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! 

Job Scope:       

• Install, Maintain & Repair Ships Propulsion & Auxiliary Systems; Steam, Turbine, Electrical & Propulsion Systems, Rudders & Steering Gear Elevators & Navy Systems
• Install, Repair & Maintain Ships Fluid Systems including; Pumps, Compressors, Purifiers, Heat Exchangers, Actuators & Valves
• Test Equipment Ensure Systems Meets Specification
• Install & Test Various Shop Equipment
• Assembly & Installation of Complex Mechanical Systems
• Other Tasks as Assigned 

• 3+ Years Relevant Experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Must Pass Drug Screen & Background Check 
• Must have OSHA 10 Maritime & Fire-watch Certification
• Must have Respirator Fit Completed Prior to Completion 
• Must be Available for All Shifts 
• Ability to Read Blue Prints, Interpret Mechanical Drawings, Written Instructions & Technical Manuals
• Ability to Read & Comprehend Hydraulic & Pneumatic Diagrams
• Proficient in Use of Precision Measurement Tools
• Must ave Shop Mathematical Skills with an Understanding of Geometry, Trigonometry, Work with Decimals & Fractions
• Ability to Use Hand & Power Tools & Machining Tools
