Key Skills:



  • In-depth knowledge of Naval Maritime maintenance policies and procedures as outlined in OPNAV 4790 series instructions.

  • In-depth knowledge of Aircraft Inventory and all associated naval aviation logistics and readiness management functions and systems (3M).

  • Working level knowledge of the Navy’s Maritime Maintenance and Logistics IT Enterprise long term strategy and goals.

  • Knowledge of at least one legacy maritime maintenance or logistics IT solution or a working knowledge several solutions and their associated interfaces.

  • Experience in the Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot maintenance of US Navy ships/submarines.


 


Position Overview


IBR is seeking a Senior Maritime Maintenance Technician with experience and knowledge related to Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot maintenance of U.S. Navy ships and submarines. The team member will be responsible for supporting the Log IT Test Team’s evaluation of Naval maintenance modernization efforts.


Responsibilities



  • Support requirements analysis and test execution for the next generation Naval Maritime Maintenance System.

  • Perform detailed analysis of maintenance, supply, and other logistics IT systems,

    business processes and requirements

  • Assess ability of current IT systems to effectively meet business requirements and

    objectives; determine gaps between current state and future state to support transition

    planning

  • Providing in-depth knowledge of, and ability to troubleshoot issues within, complex

    information systems used to implement supply management systems utilized by the DON to manage Operational Supply activities.

  • Analyzing gaps between current state and desired future state of the Maritime

    Maintenance and Logistics IT portfolio.

  • Provide analysis to ensure the implementation of new functional capabilities and user

    requirements align to the vision of an enterprise-wide integrated IT solution.

  • Providing in-depth understanding of interface requirements and relationships with Naval Maintenance systems.

  • Support the development and update of maritime maintenance policies, processes, and

    procedural documents

  • Author and maintain software test cases and procedures to validate Naval Maintenance

    modernization efforts.

  • Conduct test design activities to identify and create test cases (positive and negative)

    traceable to system requirements.

  • Conduct static and dynamic testing at all software testing levels to include integration,

    functional, system, and acceptance.

  • Accurately record and report defects found during test events and trace to resolution.

  • Work closely with stakeholders, sponsors, and customers to determine acceptance criteria and coordinate certification test events with end users.

  • Develop and execute test cases associated with Maritime maintenance requirements, and documenting findings in Jira.

  • Support Log IT T&E team in all test activities as a SME.


 


Qualifications



  • 10+ years of professional experience performing U.S. Naval Maritime maintenance activities

  • Bachelor Degree required

  • Candidate MUST currently possess an active Secret security clearance

  • Must be able to be onsite in Norfolk, VA

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Naval Maritime maintenance policies and procedures as outlined in OPNAV 4790 series instructions.

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Aircraft Inventory and all associated naval aviation logistics and readiness management functions and systems. For example:

    • Maintenance and Material Management - 3M, COSAL, JFMM, SNAP and NTCSS systems, MFOM

    • Provided management information and analysis of automated information systems (e.g., OMMS-NG, SNAP II Maintenance Data System (MDS), Micro-SNAP, SCLSIS configuration control, ESOMS, and other reporting systems

    • Navy Modernization Program Management and Operations Manual 9090-310G (NMP-MOM)



  • Must possess a working level knowledge of the Navy’s Maritime Maintenance and Logistics IT Enterprise long term strategy and goals.

  • Must possess knowledge of at least one legacy maritime maintenance or logistics IT solution or a working knowledge several solutions and their associated interfaces.

  • Experience in the Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot maintenance of US Navy ships/submarines.

  • Experience in all aspects of systems analysis and requirements generation.

  • Experience in all phases of systems technology and functional/user area operations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft productivity tools (ex. Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Able to provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/specialist.

  • Must be capable to learn test case development and test execution.

  • Ability to document detailed procedures and functional test cases

  • Ability to execute functional test cases

  • Ability to identify defects within a software system and accurately record issues

  • Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills

While this position primarily involves sedentary work in an office environment and/or home-office environment, there are some physical demands associated with the role, including:



  • Extended periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.

  • Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment or materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

  • Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.

  • Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick thinking and rapid judgements.

  • Additionally, flexible work arrangements may be available based on business needs.

  • Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
