Sincerus is seeking an experienced Maritime Maintenance and Logistics Advisor (MMLA) to provide expert advisory services to the Djiboutian Navy in support of Department of State funded program initiatives. The MMLA will serve in a full time, embedded, twelve-month long commitment abroad in Djibouti City, Djibouti, to support work at the naval installation in Djibouti City and to provide on-site training to Djiboutian naval maintenance. The MMLA shall work the same hours as their Djiboutian counterparts, approximately forty-eight (48) hours per week; however, the advisor shall participate in all training events, to include those conducted on normal days off.

Required Qualifications

  • Five (5) years' uniformed experience in surface maritime domain with the United States Navy, United States Coast Guard, or an equivalent military maritime domain.
  • Three (3) years' hands-on experience in operations and maintenance of Defender patrol boats or similar watercraft and other mono-hull watercraft.
  • Three (3) years' experience or a demonstrated proficiency in Maritime Supply and Logistics or other military logistical supply system(s).
  • Three (3) years' experience or a demonstrated proficiency in Maritime Maintenance and/or Engineering.
  • One (1) year working in sub-Saharan Africa (See Attachment 01) or a post-conflict country.
  • One (1) year of experience or a demonstrated proficiency in developing and delivering maintenance or logistics training modules to foreign militaries.
  • One (1) year of experience in advising foreign militaries and/or maritime organizations.
  • Medical clearance equivalent to Department of State Level 1 as determined by a licensed healthcare practitioner.β€―The Advisor shall undergo a medical assessment that examines his/her physical and mental fitness to perform the duties of an aircraft advisor, including the Advisor's ability to lift 50 pounds and work in sub-Saharan climates without climate control.β€―
