Main purpose of the role: This position holds the responsibility of overseeing the region Transpacific export, to include vessel profitability, utilization, and pricing/commodity strategies. Connect between the Business Unit and the countries, be the voice of the BU in the field, and represent the field in the BU. Work directly with the countries on commercial issues, 'translate' line targets/allocations to countries, set prices (under line guidance), and monitor/work with countries, on reaching the targets as per line allocations.


Main Tasks:

• Oversee pricing function and strategy.

• Monitor and maintain booking forecast.

• Review and direct actions related to vessel utilization.

• Ensure area targets for overall profitability are met.

• Translate the commercial targets into a practical work plan/pipeline with regular and stable customers to meet targets and work with country/branch sales.

• Maintain and update the tariff system and CRM sales target.

• Study and develop new business opportunities, along with improving cargo and customer mix for the responsible lines.

• Monitor vessel performance and booking materialization and address problems with country sales.

• Maintain and update actual performance compared to budget requirements.

• Serve as liaison between Pacific Business Unit and Country Office. 

• Report country performance to Business Unit.

• Coach and mentor staff to improve their overall contribution to department.

• Hold regular meetings to advise all updated matters, ensuring pricing strategies and processes are being followed.

• Provide instruction and handle/review bids with global tender management team. 

• Provide direction to global tender management team on filing of bid awards.


• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university

• 4-6 years of relevant experience in transportation/logistics/maritime industry and experience with a major containerized shipping line or a multinational freight forwarder. Experience in a commercial/sales regional/country role and trade operations is particularly valuable.

• Work independently, self-motivated, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Attention to detail in fast-paced environment with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and follow-through.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet, Data Manipulation, Formulas, Lookups, Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, Etc.
