1. Introduction

Efficient path planning is crucial for maritime fleet management, especially as global shipping demands increase and environmental regulations become more stringent. Traditional path planning methods often fail to optimize for dynamic variables such as weather conditions, fuel consumption, and port congestion. This Ph.D. proposal aims to develop advanced path planning algorithms for maritime fleet management, leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to enhance route efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability.

2. Research Objectives

The primary objectives of this research are:

  1. To develop AI-based algorithms for optimal path planning in maritime fleet management.
  2. To design a dynamic path planning system that accounts for real-time data such as weather, traffic, and fuel costs.
  3. To evaluate the performance, efficiency, and environmental impact of the proposed path planning system.
  4. To conduct simulations and case studies to validate the practical applicability of the developed algorithms.
