Maritime Ports Civil Engineer/Project Manager

Bacon Farmer Workman is seeking a maritime ports civil engineer/project manager where this role plays a vital part in expanding our waterways market primarily on the inland rivers across the continental United States and some blue water developments. Engage in master planning of developing ports, provide insight to existing riverports to update and expand their infrastructure, and lead multidisciplinary design projects, with the capability to perform and review design deliverables in partnership with our CAD team. Assist in business development efforts with new client relations by delivering technical expertise specific to maritime ports.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with the Civil team to provide bidding, procurement, and construction processes for port projects
  • Serve as the technical ports lead within the Civil team to create deliverables, master planning, project quantities, timelines, schedules, and cost estimation within technical memorandums and reports
  • Work within a team or independently to develop relationships with clients and provide technical port or maritime presentations on projects
  • Assist in business development efforts and client relations
  • Perform and review design deliverables in partnership with design team

Education/Experience:

  • Civil or Mechanical Bachelors’ Degree from an ABET- accredited college or university or related BS degree
  • 5-8 years in Port or Maritime Experience
  • Working knowledge on design and coordination of grading, water distribution, sanitary systems, stormwater, conveyance, joint reinforced concrete, and rail design as it relates to public, private, and commercial riverports
  • Working knowledge on design and coordination of grading, water distribution, sanitary systems, stormwater, conveyance, joint reinforced concrete, and rail design as it relates to public, private, and commercial riverports
  • Experience in designing and master planning for developing new & existing waterways ports and infrastructure

Physical Requirements

This employee will be required to communicate and converse with other employees, maintain a stationary position (standing and sitting), move/traverse, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods. This position must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities and carry out physical demands of the job out on Port and construction sites. Additionally, employee will need to operate a company-owned vehicle.
