[What you will be working on]

Responsibilities:-

  • Conduct lessons and review teaching materials for Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) courses.

  • Ensure that new/existing teaching curriculum modules are aligned with the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watch-keeping (STCW) Convention and the practices of the maritime industry.

  • Collaborate with industry to enhance students’ learning through activities such as industry field trips, student-industry projects, internship programs, and overseas programs. 

  • Serve as an advisory role to ensure equipment and training facilities are updated and operationally ready for practical training sessions to ensure an authentic learning experience.

  • Exercise mentorship and pastoral care to students.

  • Participate in Internal and External Quality Maritime Education and Training (QMET) audits.

  • Support polytechnic and school events especially in education counselling guidance and outreach.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:-

  • Holder of Deck Officer Class 1 or Class 2 Certificate of Competency issued by MPA or relevant authorities or Master Degree in Maritime Studies.

  • At least 4 years of working experience within the maritime industry.

  • Passionate about education and possess a strong interest in teaching and mentoring students.

  • Team player with the ability to work independently.

  • Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Applicants with no teaching experience may apply

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
