[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities:-
Conduct lessons and review teaching materials for Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) courses.
Ensure that new/existing teaching curriculum modules are aligned with the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watch-keeping (STCW) Convention and the practices of the maritime industry.
Collaborate with industry to enhance students’ learning through activities such as industry field trips, student-industry projects, internship programs, and overseas programs.
Serve as an advisory role to ensure equipment and training facilities are updated and operationally ready for practical training sessions to ensure an authentic learning experience.
Exercise mentorship and pastoral care to students.
Participate in Internal and External Quality Maritime Education and Training (QMET) audits.
Support polytechnic and school events especially in education counselling guidance and outreach.
[What we are looking for]
Requirements:-
Holder of Deck Officer Class 1 or Class 2 Certificate of Competency issued by MPA or relevant authorities or Master Degree in Maritime Studies.
At least 4 years of working experience within the maritime industry.
Passionate about education and possess a strong interest in teaching and mentoring students.
Team player with the ability to work independently.
Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
