[What the role is]
You will be part of the Maritime Network and Partnerships Office (MNPO) that comes under the MPA Academy Division to support efforts to grow Singapore as a Global Hub Port and leading International Maritime Centre. Your primary role is the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team to organise the annual Singapore Maritime Week (SMW), a flagship event of MPA and one of the world’s leading maritime shows, that brings together the international maritime community to discuss key issues and developments in the sector. Held since 2006, SMW is well-regarded for its dynamism and range of events driving thought leadership and facilitating networking and collaboration among all stakeholders. It is also a platform to demonstrate latest technologies and innovations.
[What you will be working on]
Your main roles and responsibilities include:
Curate and execute SMW programme
Research and identify key topics of interest to the international maritime community
Identify relevant events within and outside of the maritime ecosystem to engage with
Deliver a high-quality programme on topics and side-events consistent with the overall theme
Execute, monitor and control all aspects of SMW and related programme, strategically utilising resources to achieve the objectives within the agreed timelines, costs and performance expectation.
Build and maintain SIWW partnerships with stakeholders
Liaise and coordinate with partners on their involvement in SMW. These partners include international organisations, industry associations, governments, embassies, academic institutions, corporations etc.
Liaise with event manager and vendors to ensure the smooth and seamless execution of SMW
Support efforts to secure sponsorships for SMW
SMW Secretariat
Undertake Secretariat duties for SMW Working Committee and Steering Committee as well as updates to senior management. This would include organisation of meetings, agenda, and presentations development as well as minutes-taking and post meeting follow ups.
Ad-hoc Projects
Lead and execute ad-hoc projects that may take place during SMW, e.g. networking functions/receptions, side-events etc.
[What we are looking for]
· Minimally 3 to 5 years of work experience in Event Management or Comms/Marketing
· Prior experience in partnerships and stakeholder engagement roles considered a bonus
· Experience with the preparation of government tenders, budgets and other procurement requirements
· Strong interpersonal and communications skills – able to manage vendors effectively
· Outgoing personality with confidence in engaging external stakeholders
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and a good team player
· Motivated and meticulous with good project management skills and able to work with tight deadlines
