Description

DNV Maritime Ship Classification is seeking an intern to join our Technical Helpdesk (also DATE Centre Asia) in the Singapore Office for 3 to 12 months.

We deliver technical support services to internal and external customers world-wide. The department is overall responsible for DATE/ Technical helpdesk and Remote Surveys.

DATE Centre Asia is a branch/satellite of Technical Support Norway. Its main task is to provide technical support to Fleet in service-related questions from internal and external customers within the sections area of expertise, and to provide Remote Surveys using remote collaboration technology.

There will be significant learning opportunities for the selected candidates as the role will involve engaging our clients and external stakeholders, interviewing and brainstorming activities with DNV experts located in Singapore and our other research and advisory hubs such as in Norway and Germany, and other forms of activities involving desktop learning, reviewing of research papers and publications.

Job description:

  • End to end support of projects (mainly class transfer) from proposal development, product development and project delivery.
  • Assist the section in following up remote surveys (survey without physically going on ships).
  • Section is mainly handling technical queries from ship owner/manager through DATE (Direct Access to Technical Experts)
  • portal.Β 
  • Assist the section to handle these queries.
  • Actively participate in section meetings and other sharing sessions/training/innovations. Contribute with new ideas, agile in thinking and fast learner.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor or master’s degree relevant for the intended role (preferably naval architecture or marine engineering).
  • Excellent verbal & written proficiency in English.
