We have an opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to join our team in Fremantle, WA, a casual basis, following an internal appointment. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-orientated and is eager to contribute to the efficiency and success of our procurement processes.

What You Can Look Forward To

In this role, you'll be instrumental in managing the accurate and timely processing of all requisitions and orders. You'll collaborate closely with fellow procurement team members and engage with both local and international suppliers to source the highest quality materials and services for our operations.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Regional Procurement Manager, your key responsibilities in this position will include:

  • Processing quotation requests and order requisitions accurately and efficiently

  • Raising and monitoring purchase orders with local and overseas suppliers

  • Expediting materials and services that are current, near-due or overdue

  • Ensuring compliance with purchasing requirements and guidelines

  • Assisting in the monitoring and recording of contract management and vendor performance indicators

  • Supporting and implementing cost reduction initiatives and strategies

What You Will Need To Succeed

To thrive this position, you should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in purchasing, inventory management, or procurement adroles

  • Advanced computer skills, with hands-on experience using purchasing and inventory management systems

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, demonstrated by successfully managing multiple tasks and priorities

  • Thorough attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in order processing and supplier documentation

  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with stakeholders, suppliers, and team members

  • Proficient in numerical analysis, including cost evaluation and data interpretation
