Overview






R&P is looking for an experienced engineer who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need an engineer with a broad understanding of hull, mechanical and electrical systems ready to join a fast-paced and exciting program supporting the design, production, test and delivery of U.S. Navy warships and oversight of shipyard performance.

Responsibilities






  • A major component of this position involves the review of technical documentation from an engineering perspective
  • Reviews ship construction and installation drawings and ship build specifications in support of issue resolution
  • Supports the resolution of engineering and technical issues
  • Assist in the technical review of contract deliverables and resolve engineering issues
  • Conducts periodic shipyard visits and participate in quarterly Shipbuilding Production Progress Conference (SPPCs), Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs), Integrated Base Line Reviews (IBRs), Launch Readiness Reviews and Trials Readiness Reviews, as directed
  • Collects, tracks and manages to completion action items from the various reviews
  • Monitors, assesses and reports on performance of construction contracts
  • Supports the Systems Engineering team in the oversight of technical requirements and resolution of technical issues









Qualifications






  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline; Marine, Electrical or Mechanical
  • 8+ years relevant experience in engineering-related position
  • Experience in U.S. Navy programs or operations
  • Experience in the review of technical documentation and contract performance oversight preferred
  • Active Secret Clearance required
