You will be a Systems Architect for our team, which is responsible for developing systems requirements for a wide range of defense systems, including aircraft, ground vehicles, and maritime systems. Our team is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Systems Architect to lead the development of systems requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
What You Will Be DoingAs a Systems Architect, you will be responsible for defining, designing, and integrating complex systems to meet customer needs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement system designs, and communicate with program management and customer teams to ensure system requirements are met.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
• Lead the development of systems requirements for aircraft, ground vehicles, and maritime systems
• Define system functionality, performance, and interface requirements
• Develop and maintain system architecture documents and models
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize system requirements
• Analyze and interpret customer requirements, including reviewing and understanding customer specifications, standards, and regulations
• Design and integrate systems, including developing system design concepts and architectures
• Evaluate and select system components and technologies
• Ensure system compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, test and evaluation, program management, and customer teams
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including system architecture documents and models, system requirements documents and specifications, and interface control documents
• Participate in design reviews, program reviews, and other relevant meetings to ensure system requirements are met and design solutions are feasible
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure system designs are optimal and compliant

Basic Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
* Minimum 10 years of experience in systems architecture, design, and integration for aircraft, ground vehicles, and/or maritime systems
* Proven experience in developing and managing systems requirements for complex systems
* Strong knowledge of multiple domains, including:
- Aircraft systems, including avionics, propulsion, and structural systems
- Ground vehicle systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software systems
- Maritime systems, including shipboard systems, propulsion, and navigation systems
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex system requirements and design solutions
Experience with system modeling and simulation tools, such as:
- SysML and UML modeling languages
- System architecture tools, such as Cameo or similar
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including:
- DO-178C and DO-254 for software and electronics development
- MIL-STD-810 for environmental testing
- FAA, EASA, and IMO regulations for aircraft, ground vehicle, and maritime system certification
* US citizenship required, with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Desired skills* Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
* Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools, such as JIRA or similar
* Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, including:
- Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework
* Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital twin technologies

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $128,900 - $247,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
