Off the back of successful delivery of projects including the Westport Program, we are growing our maritime team in Australia and are seeking an experienced and dynamic Technical Executive to support our National Maritime Team. Please note: This position can be based in either Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth.

Transport

Our Transport and Infrastructure team leverages a collaborative approach, the latest technology and a culture of innovation across the planning, design, and management phases to deliver sustainable connectivity, mobility, and resiliency to Australian communities.

What you’ll do:

As a Maritime Technical Executive, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence and successful project delivery across a variety of maritime projects including freight, mining, defence, and energy.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated technical leadership across a variety of maritime projects, but with a focus on marine structures and working with contractors through detailed design and construction. You will also have strong people leadership skills and a strong market presence within the Ports industry.

We are looking for candidates that have demonstrable project experience and established connections with key clients and have proven experience managing complex designs across a range of maritime projects.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and overseeing the technical delivery of a variety of maritime projects across a range of sectors.
  • Working with our other Maritime Technical Executives to provide strong technical leadership of our national Maritime team including staff development and growth.
  • Working with relevant design codes, legislations, and standards, supporting Engineers to develop their skills.
  • A high level of collaboration with colleagues in the wider Australian and global maritime teams as well as with the wider business.
  • Working with the Maritime National Executive in facilitating collaboration across the business beyond Maritime including Mining, Energy, Freight and Defence as required.
  • Contributing to the growth of WSPs complimentary global resourcing centres in Manilla and India for use on maritime projects 

About You:

A natural Leader, you will lead by example by demonstrating a strong safety culture and ensuring that all activities are aligned to our policies and procedures, as well as maintain, enhance and seek new client relationships and opportunities.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in professional service delivery, advisory or engineering field
  • Have established many years Maritime industry consulting experience with proven delivery and business development across large mutli-disciplinary projects.
  • Chartered Engineer status with CPEng or RPEQ
  • Significant experience in managing civil/structural/infrastructure projects in the maritime sector.
  • Excellent working knowledge of maritime design and planning, including maritime codes/standards.
  • Excellent leadership skills and existing relationships with key maritime clients, contractors and industry stakeholders
  • Proactive collaboration skills and a proven ability to work cross business to drive outstanding results.
  • Experience in driving business profit and loss outcomes as well as successful commercial positions on projects.
